WANT TO MAKE YOUR JEWELLERY LAST FOREVER?

Silver is favourite metal – understated and subtle. This metal is versatile & adds a funky look to casual outfits or a quiet elegance to dressier ensembles.

Since Silver is much softer than many other metals, it requires special attention to prevent damage to its texture and composition.

But don’t worry – taking care of sterling silver is hardly a time-consuming task.

Here we have some tips on how you can take care of your Silver jewelry:

    1. Before storing your silver jewelry try to wipe it off thoroughly with a polishing cloth or other soft material, like a muslin cloth.
    2. Silver needs to be stored in an area that is dry and closed, such as a jewelry box or drawer. Try to keep plenty of room for each piece of jewelry.
    3. If you’re planning to store a sterling silver piece for an extended period of time, try sealing it in an airtight bag to protect it from oxidation & humidity. Thats only if you don’t like it oxidised !!!!

  • Don’t use undiluted bleach, ammonia, or acetone to clean silver. Always ask a jewelry expert before using any of those substances diluted on your particular silver piece.

We totally love the antique dark grey sheen that silver gets over the years and in fact actually treat the silver to achieve that effect. But in case, you like your silver shinier just follow these steps:

  1. Every time you use your silver, try to wash or rinse it right away with hot water. Be sure to dry the pieces thoroughly.
  2. When polishing, use long back-and-forth motions that mirror the grain of the silver. Do not rub in circles, as this will magnify any tiny scratches.
  3. To remove silver tarnish, you might want to try adding a small amount of toothpaste to the piece and then use a damp cloth or fingers to rub it into the surface of the metal.
  4. Never use detergent, soap, toothpaste etc to clean your gold plated jewellery.
  5. To clean Gold plated jewellery wipe your Gold plated piece lightly with a damp cotton cloth to remove surface dirt or dust. Be sure it is completely dry before storing the jewellery again.
