Gudi Padwa is believed to bring in prosperity and good luck into a home. It is also considered an auspicious day to commence new projects and buy new things.
Gudi Padwa’s most prominent symbol is an elaborately decorated bamboo stick displayed proudly outside the windows or the main gate of a house. This is ‘gudi’, and it is created using a bright yellow or green cloth adorned with zari work. This cloth is tied to a bamboo tip and is further decorated using neem leaves, mango leaves, a garland of red flowers and sugar crystals. A copper or silver pot is then placed atop it.
Celebrate this special occasion for with your near and dear ones. Start your new year by investing in Silver.
A typical Maharashtrian traditional necklace , this choker necklace rests on a red velvet Gaadi . We love the chevron Zig zags ending in 2 rows of beads and surmounted by pointed terminals . This necklace has a red adjustable dori. It has a classic design that is incredibly traditional as well as contemporary.
An Incredibly simple but stunning design , this Kada is angled in the centre , making it an exceptional piece
Designed in the classic Temple style consisting of Lakshmi coins with rich ruby coloured kemp stones giving it a very royal look. This one is for all those special occasions. Bring on the Glam !!!!
Beautifully designed around a pair of earthen pot-like motif, with exquisite rawa work and ruby coloured spinnel stones , in Temple style across the body of the kada.It comes with a screw fastening , so it can be easily slipped on.
This is a really sweet design – works well as a choker as well. It is a traditional Maharashtrian Mangalsutra also called Saaj – made up of lots of silver beads strung together to form an exquisite design suspending a pretty floral pendant with a deep red spinnel stone in the centre.
We love this piece because it is our Ahilya Emblem – the Sarpech , that is what Kings wore in their Turbans !!!! Made in ruby coloured stones and kundan with tiny seed pearls proudly surmounted , and a profusion of pearls ending with a large pearl flourish .
Gudi Padwa is a celebration that is much awaited for and this is a time when people pray for the well being of the people. It is believed that good wins over evil and is an auspicious day for all.
Ahilya Jewels wishes you Happy Gudi Padwa.
